Theme: The role of the local government in the (integrated) education in the Republic of Macedonia

This topic connects the dominant topics from the discussions in the focus groups and the brainstorming which relate to the local ethnic dimension and education. The situation in the educational system was a topic of discussion in all areas in terms of quality, as well as in terms of the ethnic segregation. As expected, language was a key issue but all the debaters considered it as a very sensitive topic for a debate. Consequently, it was suggested and accepted to do research and debate on the topic regarding the role that the local government should have in the improvement of the educational system, with a special focus on the integrated education. Furthermore, it was particularly highlighted that the integrated education should address the needs of everyone, regardless of their identity characteristics. The dialogues for the selected topics will be held in the period January - March 2016.
